About Us: Latest News - New Course Improvements

Overall Emphasis

Overall emphasis will focus on the improvement of course conditions, green speed, additional bunkers and tee renovations. We also have plans to water the perimeter rough adjacent to the fairways and the dry spots in the rough that get hard during dry spells.

New Course Par is 72

Starting the 2008 season, par for the LeRoy Country Club will be 72. After renovations and extension of the 3rd hole, it will now be a par 5 hole, marking a major improvement to the front nine and to the course.

Ed Mills will be retiring the par 71 course record at 61. Good news for all the young Turks who will have a chance to establish a new par 72 record.

New Carts

We have purchased new carts with all the amenities at a significant expense. For those participating in the member cart program, please partner up with others in the program when playing in the same foursome.

On annual rental carts, riders will be charged $5.00 and $8.00 plus tax for 9 and 18 holes respectively. Daily rental of riding carts will be $12.00 and $22.00 (9 and 18 holes) plus tax unless there are two or more persons renting, in which case the charge will be $6.00 and $11.00 per person.

New Cart Path

Construction has been carried out on the 13th hole for a new cart path. Some of the woods on the right side of the fairway were thinned and cleared for the path. This allows for more room on the course as well as an improved transition to the 14th hole.

New Distance Markers

New blue, white and red distance yard markers have been placed on the front nine. Golfers will find that the new markers make it much easier to judge both ball flight distances and yards to the pin. Future plans call for replacing the markers on the back nine as well.
